A little preparation goes a long way before a long drive. These five checks cover the problems we see most often on the road.
- Oil level and condition — top up or schedule a change if you are close to your interval.
- Tire pressure and tread — including the spare.
- Fluids — coolant, brake fluid and windshield washer fluid.
- Lights and wipers — replace worn blades before you need them.
- Battery — clean terminals and test older batteries.
